Canadian Tamil Congress Welcomes Liberal Party Victory

The Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) congratulates the Liberal Party of Canada and their leader, Justin Trudeau on their monumental election victory. CTC would also like to enthusiastically congratulate Gary Anandasangaree on his election as the Member of Parliament for Scarborough-Rouge Park for the Liberal Party.

Gary has been actively involved in CTC’s work over the past decade, a testament to his inspirational role as a leader in the community of Scarborough as well as the Tamil community more broadly. Gary is a longtime resident and advocate for Scarborough, and has developed widespread support of the community. He has worked tirelessly to advance the rights of the disadvantaged and vulnerable on both domestic and international stages.

“Gary’s work at CTC has been emblematic of his community work as a whole,” said Raj Thavaratnasingham, President of CTC. “We are excited to see him take his many talents to his new role as Member of Parliament and we are sure he will play an important role in the new government to the benefit of Canada.”
