Update on CTC’s COVID-19 Food Relief Effort in the Amparai District, Sri Lanka.

CTC’s COVID-19 Food Relief Efforts supported by the Tamil Canadians for 200 vulnerable families in the Amparai District commenced on Monday April 13th, 2020. This effort is also supported by Printfast Canada and is being implemented by the North and East Economic Development (NEED) Centre.
A total of 151 families from three villages in the Karativu DS Division of Amparai District received the food relief packages on the first day. 70 families from Kannangkiramam village in the Karaitivu 9 GN division, 26 families from the Tsunami Housing Scheme in the Karaitivu 8 GN division and 55 families from the Sinthanaikuddypuram in the Karaitivu 3 GN division have received this food relief.
Each food package, valued at Sri Lankan Rupees 1002, contained the following items.
5 kg Rice, 1 kg Wheat Flour, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Lentils, 400 grams Soya meat and 1 bar soap.
