Update on CTC’s COVID-19 Food Relief Effort in the Kilinochchi District, Sri Lanka

CTC’s COVID-19 Food Relief Efforts supported by the Tamil Canadians for the most vulnerable 250 families in Kilinochchi District was conducted on Sunday April 12th, 2020. This effort is being implemented by the Rotary Club of Kilinochchi and the Kilinochchi Education Development Trust (KEDT) and facilitated by the North and East Economic Development (NEED) Centre. A total of 78 families in the Kanakapuram, Sivannagar / Sivansoolai and Uruthirapuram villages under the Karachchi DS division of Kilinochchi district were distributed food supplies. Food relief efforts in the Kilinochchi will continue in the coming days.
Each food package, valued at Sri Lankan Rupees 1100, contained the following items. 5 kg Rice, 2 kg Wheat Flour, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Lentils, 250 Soya meat and 1 kg Salt.
