Update on CTC’s COVID-19 Food Relief Effort in the Vavuniya District, Sri Lanka

April 9, 2020 Update.

On Wednesday, April 8th, food relief packages were distributed to 74 families in Tharanikkulam village in the Vavuniya DS Division.

Earlier on Tuesday, April 7th, 92 families in Vilakkuvaithakulam, Mahilankulam and Puthiyavelarsinnakkulam villages in the Vavuniya DS Division and on Sunday April 5th, 50 families in Neeliyamoddai village in Vengalacheddikulam Divisional Secretariat (DS) Division in the Vavuniya District recived food relief packages.

The food package for the Vavuniya district contained the following items Rice (red) 5 kg, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Chickpeas, 250 grams Soya, 100 grams Tea and 1 Soap bar for a total cost of Sri Lankan Rupees 1075 per food package.

275 food packages in total will be distributed in total in the Vavuniya district.
