BOB HUNTER MEMORIAL PARK Tree planting events
MARKHAM, ON – October 13, 2013 – On Sunday, October 13, 2013 Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) & Center for Leadership and Innovation (CFLI) help plant 320 trees of 9 different native species in the Bob Hunter Memorial Park area of Rouge Park. This area protects diverse habitat, offering a platform of nature discovery and appreciation. Mike Bender, General Manager of Rouge Park said it was one of the best days in the park this year. “The Canadian Tamil Congress and the Centre for Leadership and Innovation were amazing volunteers who worked incredibly hard to help build the park and they had lots of fun doing it.
These groups of people included a great mix of youth and adults, who gathered in some steady rain on a cool fall day and they did an incredible job of planting. Thanks very much and we look forward to seeing you again in the park.”
