6th Annual Tamil Canadian Walk Launch!

The Canadian Tamil Congress is pleased to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Fit for Heart through the 6th Tamil Canadian Walk-a-thon.

It is a fact that every seven minutes someone in Canada dies from heart disease and stroke. The Tamil Canadian community, as part of the larger South Asian community in Ontario is three times more likely to experience heart disease or stroke and at a much earlier age than other Canadians due to genetic and other high-risk factors.

Fit for Heart is an opportunity to share with friends, family and community your own personal passion for being active and fit – for life! By participating in the walk-a-thon, the community will be raising funds for life-saving research and education that continues to protect and save lives.
