Canadian Tamil Congress message to Tamil Canadians on Corona-virus (COVID-19)
English : [PDF ] | Tamil: [PDF ]
Dear Tamil Canadians,
As the COVID-19 (Corona-virus) pandemic continues to escalate in Canada and globally, we are facing unprecedented times. While there is an environment of considerable uncertainty and anxiety, we at the Canadian Tamil Congress are very cognizant of the well-being of our community and like all of you are confident that similar to several other outbreaks in history, this too will come to an end. We are equally confident that not only our community but the entire world will undoubtedly come out of this crisis stronger than before and with perhaps a
better sense of community and society.
Our federal government and other governments across the country have announced extraordinary measures to support people and businesses over the crisis. To assist our community, Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) will be providing further communication summarizing the federal government’s relief measures in both Tamil and English in the coming days.
At this difficult time a number of our medical doctors, healthcare professionals, staff, employees at grocery stores and essential services workers are providing selfless services and we are ever so thankful to them. In the meantime, it is important we all do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19, flatten the curve and completely recover from this situation as soon as possible. Imperative in all of this is that we maintain our social distance and follow the advice of our medical doctors and healthcare professionals. This is difficult for all of us but there is no other option to keep us safe.

We are all together in this situation and we know this will certainly get better. Please stay home, stay safe and be
positive. Should you have any questions or clarifications, please contact us by

Yours truly,
Sivan Ilangko
