Update on CTC’s COVID-19 Food Relief Effort in the Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka

COVID-19 Food Relief Efforts supported by the Canadian Tamil Congress and Tamil Canadians for the Trincomalee District was conducted on Thursday April 9th, 2020. This effort is being implemented by the local district organization Trincomalee District Welfare Association. Three hundred (300) of the most vulnerable daily wage-earning families were distributed with food relief packages in the Kuchchaveli DS Division in the Trincomalee district. These food relief recipients have been identified with the help of Grama Sevakas and District Secretaries
Each food package, valued at Sri Lankan Rupees 1000, contained the following items 5 kg Rice, 2 kg Flour, 1 kg Sugar, 1 kg Lentils, 250 and 100 grams of Tea.
