Canadian Tamil Congress condolence message to South Africa
December 6, 2013
His Excellency Membathisi Mdladlana South African High Commissioner to Canada 15 Sussex Drive Ottawa, ON M2N 6Y8
Excellency Membathisi Mdladlana,
It is with great sorrow that we learned of the passing away of the “greatest son” of South Africa and one of the most beloved leaders of the 20th century. Nelson Mandela was honoured and revered around the world for his tireless effort to bring peace, justice and equality to his country and throughout the world. He will always be remembered for his role in fighting against injustice and ending apartheid rule in South Africa.
The heartfelt prayers of Tamil Canadians are with you and your nation as you mourn the loss of a fearless leader, incredible human being and a beacon for change. As we celebrate the life of a truly courageous individual who touched the hearts of thousands of people worldwide, let us continue to be inspired by his resolve to ensure a peaceful and just society for all.
While the world may have lost one of its great moral leaders, may his legacy of hope, reconciliation and forgiveness live on.
May your greatest son rest in peace.
Yours truly,
Raj Thavaratnasingham President Canadian Tamil Congress
