Tamil Canadians Saddened by the Ottawa Attack

It was with shock and great sadness we learnt of the senseless attack in our country’s capital and the unfortunate death of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends as they deal with this tragic death, and all others who were affected in Ottawa.
We are also grateful for the brave men and women who protected and defended our citizens throughout the day.

Tamil Canadians stand in solidarity with all other Canadians as we deal with this despicable act, and echo our Prime Minister’s words that Canada, and Canadian values, “will never be intimidated.” Canadians are a resilient and courageous people, and we know that the Leader of the Opposition was correct when he said, “We woke up this morning in a country blessed by love, diversity and peace and tomorrow we will do the same.”
